Monthly Motivations: May 2021

I think you should know…

As of today I hit one hundred likes and in April I hit fifty Followers. I’m so happy you all like what I do here on the late-start website and I want to continue doing what I do and make it (hopefully) better.

For those of you who may not know, May is mental health awareness month. So I’ve been trying to plan out content for may that is interesting, introspective, and informative. What I have is hopefully good enough, but we’ll find out.

In April of 2019, my grandmother passed away and as far as quotes go I can only really think about this month is this quote from the YouTube video”If you are in a shell…” by Zefrank1

My Month

I’ve been tracking my mood as a challenge for myself and also I’ve been chronicling my days in my Win Journal I don’t know if I will challenge myself again for the following month, but it was a good experience for me. I feel like I learned a lot about myself through the process of tracking my mood and if not I at least learned the importance of a good night’s rest.

As far as goals go I haven’t been keeping up with them. I wanted to make 12 posts in April, but I only hit 11; I didn’t account for my schedule or having to work overtime on a separate project. For May I think I will go lower on my goals, just to get them to a more workable state.

As I mentioned before my the anniversary of my grandma’s death has been on my mind for most of the month. I feel like I should talk about it’ and i may do that one day, but not now, not today. dealing with loss is hard and I would rather keep this particular post somewhat light.

My intention for this month is to try to get the word out about mental health and also a little self-promotion. This blog is super tiny, so it needs all the help it can get. I made this website for people to read and talk about mental health and if no one sees it then it can’t be a source for conversation.

  1. Cinema Therapy is a YouTube channel where a therapist and a filmmaker both review a movie together.
  2. Notion app, it’s great, I’ve been using it a lot to take notes and plan out my writing schedule.
  3. StoryGraph app, it’s also great, it helps me find new and interesting books that are tailored to what I read.
  4. Ryan George is a comedy YouTuber and I really like the skits that he does.
  5. Panic! At The Disco’s album “Pray for the Wicked” or “Death of a Bachelor” both are great!
